From history we are acquainted with several healing tools, objects and people with healing abilities. Healers have always existed. Lazlo Harasztosi is an offspring of people whose line is unforeseeably long in the previous ages.
We should not forget that previously HEALING did not consist of anything else but magic popular methods and therapies that were based on long observations and experiments. Medical Science of the previous eras was practiced by shamans, magicians, wise-women, herb-women, homeopaths etc. None of these had university degrees. People were right in their belief that they only believed to healers whose treatment was successful, whose healing methods they had tried, who they trusted and who gathered his or her knowledge among the people. In those times the acceptance of a healer by a superior authority did not make much difference to the people.
We should not forget the fact that there were universities where doctors were trained in many parts of the world. At the same time healers were only trained by experience, and popular knowledge that was passed on to each generation.
In the East the situation is different. Even today the two types of healing methods still exist and are generally regarded equal. For example, in India the annual budget of the national health system is divided into two on a fifty-fifty percent basis. One half is received by the hospitals in towns, clinics, sanatoriums and institutions of biological research and experiments. The other half is received by those `barefooted doctors' who walk through jungles, rivers, hills in order to get to the smallest villages. To villages which do not appear on a map, and to places where people have never heard about overall health systems or have never seen a hospital or equipment. The 'barefooted doctor' is a quack doctor who has received basic training in an ideal case, or no training at all. However, he is in possession of the knowledge of popular therapies and his bag is full of herbs, creams, and drops. These are all produced by healers who are specialized in the area.
Finally, we can say that long time ago and even today ten thousands healed and heal patients for whom knowledge does not mean years spent at universities or practice exercised there. Their knowledge consists of the inheritance and acquisition of previous knowledge and experience. These popular healers do not treat anything as impossible, like healers who graduated from universities, whose minds were filled with the existence of physical or other BARRIERS.
They have known it for long time if someone has cancer, it is not sufficient
for the whole healing process to concentrate merely on the tumor. All
the shamans, herb-women and other healers have always known that the root
of the problems should be looked for in the soul of the patient. This way
their healing has a deeper effect on the patient, their aspect is broader
and it includes more than that of the white-cloaked doctors who only trust
their equipment.
With all these of course I would not like to reduce the importance
of the results of official medical science as those are simply immense.
But they could be so much greater if people were not only healed in their
bodies but were regarded as human beings that should be cured in their spirits
too.
